This course aims to provide electricians, plumbers, heating engineers and ventilation engineers with the knowledge and skills to correctly install and commission domestic ventilation systems. The course has been structured to meet the requirements of the Approved Document to Part F of the Building Regulations 2010 and is recognised as a demonstration of competence for Competent Person Schemes (CPS).
Trainees should hold a formal craft qualification e.g. N/SVQ 2/3 in Electrical, Plumbing, Heating or Heating and Ventilation and have a working knowledge of the construction of dwellings. The modules covered include:
- Domestic ventilation in context
- Airflow requirements and calculations
- Health and safety
- Installation, inspection, testing commissioning and provision of information
